WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
"The Associate Software Engineer plays a key role in City National Bank's Technology & Innovation division. As an Associate Software Engineer you will analyze, design, code, debug, test, document, implement and maintain business and client-facing applications using City National Bank's Secure Software Development Lifecycle. The Associate Software Engineer must have rich and diverse technical background, is creative (intellectually curious), and passionate about Software Engineering and eager to learn emerging technologies and trends. The typical day includes collaborating with business system analysts, project managers, engineers (e.g., Software, UX, Full Stack, DevOps, Quality, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity), business teams, vendors and other stake holders to design, implement and support business and client-facing applications. This role will need to effectively communicate, collaborate, and influence engineering and business team members across many projects and departmental boundaries. Under supervision and guidance from senior members of the team, the Associate Software Engineer develops solutions within an application development team. The Associate Software Engineer is developing professional expertise and continues to acquire higher levels of knowledge and skill in own discipline."
What you will do
• Will assist and participate in the design and development of business and client-facing applications, as a member of a team.
• Writing secure quality code with a drive for automated testing and validation based on the You Build You Own (YBYO) model.
• Perform moderate engineering activities for performance tuning, monitoring, deployment and production support.
• Implement, maintain and update CI/CD pipelines in the cloud within defined scope.
• Assist and work with business partners, architects and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of systems based on priority.
• Collaborate with multiple, enterprise-wide distributed performing teams to deliver new capabilities in business applications.
• Design and develop API's under technical guidance from senior members of the team.
• Learn and follow City National Bank's Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC).
• Create and maintain application system overviews and technical documentation.
• Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.).
• Completes all required training.
Must-Have*
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of software development experience.
• Minimum 6 month experience working as a part of a team developing and designing software (school experience accepted).
Skills and Knowledge
• Preferred experience in Commercial Lending Technology or Financial Services
Compensation
Starting base salary: $78,970 - $126,140 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
